Melty Caramel Apple Dessert : A Warm and Gooey Treat

A warm and gooey melty caramel apple dessert made with fresh apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, and caramel sauce for the perfect comfort treat.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale

4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup caramel sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp unsalted butter
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp vanilla extract
Whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or toasted pecans for serving

Instructions

Wash, peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges, then toss with lemon juice.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and stir in cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add apples and brown sugar, stir to coat, and cook until slightly softened.
Pour in caramel sauce, reduce heat, and simmer until apples are tender and sauce thickens.
Optional: Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15–20 minutes.
Remove from heat and let rest a few minutes before serving.
Serve warm with whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, or toasted pecans.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil for butter. Use Granny Smith for a tart flavor or Honeycrisp for added sweetness. Add a pinch of sea salt for salted caramel flavor.
