A delicious twist on the classic Italian sub this Chopped Italian Hero Sandwich combines finely chopped meats cheese fresh vegetables and a flavorful dressing all mixed together for the perfect bite every time Ideal for lunch dinner or meal prep this sandwich delivers bold Italian flavors and a satisfying crunch in every bite


Ingredients

Italian Hoagie Roll 1 large
Genoa Salami 4 slices
Capicola 4 slices
Mortadella 2 slices
Provolone Cheese 2 slices
Shredded Lettuce 1/2 cup
Tomato sliced 1 medium
Red Onion thinly sliced 1/4 cup
Banana Peppers 1/4 cup
Olive Oil 2 tbsp
Red Wine Vinegar 1 tbsp
Italian Seasoning 1 tsp
Salt and Pepper to taste


Instructions

Chop all the meats cheese lettuce tomato onion and banana peppers into small bite-sized pieces
Transfer chopped ingredients into a large mixing bowl
Drizzle olive oil and red wine vinegar over the mixture
Sprinkle Italian seasoning salt and pepper then toss everything together until evenly mixed
Slice the hoagie roll open but do not cut all the way through leaving one side intact
Scoop the chopped mixture onto the bread pressing lightly to ensure an even layer
Drizzle extra olive oil and vinegar if desired
Close the sandwich and press gently to hold everything together before serving

Notes

For a spicier kick add hot cherry peppers or red pepper flakes
Use fresh bakery-style hoagie rolls for the best texture and flavor
