Description

Slow Cooker Pasta with Ground Beef is a hearty, flavorful, and easy-to-make meal perfect for busy weeknights. This one-pot dish combines tender pasta, rich tomato sauce, and perfectly seasoned ground beef, all cooked together in the slow cooker for a comforting and delicious dinner.


Ingredients

One pound ground beef
Twelve ounces pasta penne, rotini, or rigatoni
Two cups beef broth
One medium onion chopped
Four cloves garlic minced
One can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
Two tablespoons tomato paste
Two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
One teaspoon Italian seasoning
One teaspoon salt
One teaspoon black pepper
One tablespoon olive oil
Half a cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Half a teaspoon red pepper flakes optional for spice
One teaspoon dried oregano optional for extra flavor
Half a cup heavy cream optional for a creamy version


Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil
Brown the ground beef breaking it apart with a spoon until fully cooked then drain excess fat
Transfer the cooked beef to the slow cooker
Add chopped onions minced garlic crushed tomatoes tomato paste Worcestershire sauce Italian seasoning salt and black pepper
Pour in the beef broth and stir well to combine all ingredients
Cover and cook on low for six to seven hours or high for three to four hours
Thirty minutes before serving add the uncooked pasta to the slow cooker
Stir well and add an extra half to one cup of water or broth if needed
Cover and cook on low for another thirty to forty minutes until the pasta is tender
Stir in Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the sauce
If making the creamy version add heavy cream at this stage and mix well
Let the pasta sit for five minutes before serving
Serve hot garnished with fresh parsley or additional cheese

Notes

For best results use sturdy pasta like penne or rigatoni to avoid overcooking
If the sauce is too thin let it cook uncovered for ten to fifteen minutes before adding the pasta
For extra flavor add a bay leaf during cooking and remove before serving
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to four days or frozen for up to three months
