Description
This rich and creamy copycat Pillsbury Cinnamon Roll Icing recipe brings that nostalgic, bakery-style glaze to your kitchen in just 10 minutes. It’s sweet, smooth, and perfect for topping warm cinnamon rolls, cookies, sweet breads, pancakes, and more.
Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
⅛ teaspoon fine salt
3 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup heavy cream, room temperature
Optional: Dash of ground cinnamon for topping
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, beat the room-temperature butter on medium-high speed for 2 to 3 minutes until pale and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract and salt until well combined. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well between each addition. Slowly add the heavy cream and continue beating for 1 to 2 more minutes until the icing is smooth, fluffy, and spreadable. Once spread, sprinkle with cinnamon for the classic Pillsbury look and flavor.
Notes
Use room temperature butter and cream for the best texture. If the icing is too thick, add more cream one teaspoon at a time. To use the icing for piping, refrigerate slightly before applying. This recipe makes enough to generously ice 8–12 cinnamon rolls or a 9×13 tray of sweet treats.
