Creamy, spicy, and utterly comforting, these deviled potatoes are the perfect twist on your traditional side dish.
Ingredients
2 pounds small red or Yukon Gold potatoes
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or parsley
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
Wash potatoes and boil them in salted water until tender (20–25 mins).
In a small saucepan, heat butter and cream until warm. Remove from heat, stir in sour cream and mustard.
Mash potatoes in a bowl, leaving some texture.
Add paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour in cream mixture, stir gently to combine.
Fold in chives or parsley and optional Parmesan cheese.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve warm as a savory, spicy side dish.
Notes
For milder heat, reduce cayenne.
Can be made ahead and reheated with a splash of cream.
Great paired with crispy fried chicken or swamp soup.
