Description
Freshly made strawberry lemonade with lemons combines real lemon juice, ripe strawberries, and a hint of mint for the ultimate summer drink.
Ingredients
Fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
Fresh lemons juiced
Granulated sugar
Cold water
Ice cubes
Fresh mint leaves optional for garnish
Instructions
Blend the sliced strawberries with a few tablespoons of sugar until smooth and set aside.
Juice the fresh lemons to yield about one cup of lemon juice, removing seeds but keeping some pulp if desired.
In a large pitcher, stir together the lemon juice and remaining sugar until fully dissolved.
Add the strawberry puree to the lemon mixture and stir to combine.
Pour in 3 to 4 cups of cold water depending on desired strength and mix well.
Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or water as needed.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill.
Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices, strawberry slices, and mint leaves if using.
Notes
Always use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
Adjust the sweetness depending on how ripe your strawberries are.
For a sparkling version, substitute half the cold water with sparkling water.
Honey can be used instead of sugar for a natural sweetener option.
