Description
A creamy and savory Garlic Mushroom Quiche made with sautéed mushrooms, fresh garlic, Swiss cheese, and a flaky golden crust perfect for brunch or dinner.
Ingredients
1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust
1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
2 cups mushrooms, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
4 large eggs
1 cup heavy cream or half & half
1/2 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add mushrooms and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream until well combined. Stir in shredded cheese.
Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and gently press into the pan.
Add the cooked garlic mushrooms evenly over the crust.
Pour the egg and cheese mixture over the mushrooms.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding sautéed spinach, caramelized onions, or cooked bacon. Use whole milk for a lighter texture or substitute the cheese to suit your preference.
