Easter Egg Recipe

Description

This Easter Egg Recipe makes festive, chocolate-filled treats using simple ingredients like peanut butter, Nutella, and sprinkles for the perfect springtime dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups chocolate chips or candy melts (white, milk, or dark)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup Nutella
1/2 cup marshmallow fluff
1/2 cup vanilla or chocolate frosting
1/2 cup crushed cookies
Sprinkles
Pastel candy pearls
Edible glitter
Food coloring (gel-based, for tinting white chocolate)

Instructions

Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
If using white chocolate, stir in gel food coloring to create pastel colors.
Using a spoon or pastry brush, coat the inside of silicone egg molds with a layer of chocolate.
Chill the molds in the freezer for 10–15 minutes until chocolate is set.
Apply a second layer of chocolate for sturdier shells and chill again.
Fill the hardened chocolate shells with desired fillings like peanut butter, Nutella, or frosting.
Spoon more melted chocolate over the filling to seal each egg and smooth the surface.
Chill until fully set, about 15–20 minutes.
Carefully remove eggs from molds and decorate with sprinkles, glitter, or additional chocolate drizzle.

Notes

Use silicone molds for easy release and a professional finish.
Make ahead and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
For vegan versions, use dairy-free chocolate and sunflower seed butter.
Avoid overfilling to ensure eggs seal cleanly.
