Ingredients
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick (or 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
1 tablespoon honey (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (optional, for extra soothing effect)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (or 1 lemon wedge)
Instructions
Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan. Add the cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon), reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes. If using, add the grated ginger and continue simmering for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the tea into a mug, discarding cinnamon bits and ginger pieces. Stir in the honey until fully dissolved, then squeeze in fresh lemon juice or drop in a lemon wedge for extra brightness. Serve warm and sip slowly for a soothing effect.
Notes
Use raw or manuka honey for additional antimicrobial benefits. Add a pinch of turmeric for extra anti-inflammatory properties. If making a larger batch, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat before serving.
