Description
This rich chocolate brownie pecan pie combines fudgy cocoa brownies with a gooey pecan topping for the ultimate Southern dessert.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until combined.
Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until fully incorporated.
Spread brownie batter evenly into the prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, whisk corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
Fold in chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
Pour the pecan filling over the partially baked brownie base.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 35 to 40 minutes or until the top is golden and just set.
Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
Substitute dark corn syrup for a deeper flavor or use walnuts instead of pecans. Chill before slicing for cleaner cuts.
