Ingredients
1 pound ground beef 85% lean recommended
1 cup diced onions
2 cloves garlic minced
1 cup beef broth or water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
1 teaspoon chili powder for added flavor
Instructions
Place raw ground beef in the slow cooker breaking it apart into smaller chunks
Add diced onions minced garlic salt pepper smoked paprika and chili powder
Pour in beef broth or water to keep the meat moist while cooking
Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours
Stir occasionally to break up the meat and ensure even cooking
Once cooked drain excess liquid if needed and use in your favorite recipes

Browning the ground beef before slow cooking enhances flavor but is optional
Use leaner beef 90% or higher to minimize grease buildup
If using frozen beef thaw first for best results
