Buttery Croissant French Toast Breakfast

Description

A rich buttery croissant French toast that’s crispy on the outside soft inside and packed with flavor Perfect for a weekend breakfast or a special brunch treat


Ingredients

Scale

4 large day-old croissants
3 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp butter for frying
Maple syrup or honey for serving
Powdered sugar for garnish


Instructions

Slice croissants in half lengthwise
In a large bowl whisk together eggs milk heavy cream sugar vanilla extract cinnamon and salt
Dip each croissant half into the custard mixture letting it soak for 15–20 seconds per side
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt 1 tbsp butter
Place soaked croissants in the pan and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy
Repeat with remaining croissants adding more butter if needed
Transfer to a serving plate drizzle with maple syrup or honey and dust with powdered sugar
Serve warm with fresh fruit whipped cream or caramelized bananas

Notes

Use slightly stale croissants for the best texture Fresh croissants may become too soft and soggy
Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar to the custard mixture
Try stuffed variations with Nutella cream cheese or almond butter
For a dairy-free version swap milk with almond or oat milk and use coconut oil instead of butter
