Ingredients

Ground Beef 2 lbs
Garlic Powder 2 tsp
Onion Powder 1 tsp
Smoked Paprika 1 tsp
Black Pepper 1 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Dried Thyme 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds 1 tsp optional
Red Pepper Flakes 1/2 tsp optional for spice
Breadcrumbs 1/2 cup optional for texture
Egg 1 large for binding
Olive Oil 2 tbsp for cooking


Instructions

In a large bowl combine the ground beef garlic powder onion powder smoked paprika black pepper salt thyme fennel seeds and red pepper flakes Mix until well combined
If using breadcrumbs and egg add them to the mixture and mix again until fully incorporated
Form the mixture into sausage shapes or small patties
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the sausages for 5 to 7 minutes per side until browned and cooked through
For grilling preheat the grill to medium heat and cook the sausages for about 10 minutes turning occasionally until fully cooked
For baking preheat the oven to 375°F 190°C and place sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper Bake for 20 to 25 minutes flipping halfway through

Notes

For extra moisture use an 80/20 ground beef ratio
Let the sausage mixture rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before cooking to allow flavors to meld
Homemade sausages can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months
