Description

A juicy and crispy Air Fryer BBQ Split Chicken Breast recipe featuring bone-in chicken, smoky spices, and a sticky-sweet barbecue glaze ready in under 30 minutes.


Ingredients

2 bone-in, skin-on split chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
½ cup BBQ sauce
Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
Rub the chicken with olive oil, then season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Place the chicken skin-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 18–20 minutes.
Flip the chicken, brush both sides with BBQ sauce, and increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C).
Cook for another 5–8 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the sauce caramelizes.
Remove chicken from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Use your favorite barbecue sauce to customize flavor. For extra caramelization, brush on a second layer of sauce after cooking and broil for 2 minutes. Make sure the chicken reaches 165°F internally for safety.
